Palate
Complex full bodied dry red wine with strong tannins, medium acidity, dark red fruits like: Black currant, raspberries, dark ripe plum and cherries. Notes of strawberries and ripe banana’s and a lot of notes like: vanilla, caramel, leather, tobacco leafs, toasted ceder wood, mokka, cappuccino, dark chocolate. In the end a hint of black spices hits in. All these flavors hit your palate in different phases. The one even more beautiful than the other and all very complex. Tannins are strong in this Gran Reserva from Faustino, so this is a good sign for aging. It’s already enjoyable as it is now, but will only get better with time in the bottle.
-
Finish
Long, lingering finish with lots of beautiful dark red fruits notes and complex toasted wood notes. Dark spices in the end.

Conclusion
Expensive red Rioja wine but a Gran Reserva that’s worth your money even at the price they sell it for. This will get better with every year you safe it ( if you have the patience). This is an excellent wine for investment. The tannins and acidity in the bottle will settle and the complexity of this wine will be even beter over years. One of our favorite red wines from Rioja, Spain. 26 months in French and American oak barrels. At least 3 years in the bottle.
